Description
This hike is named after Mike Davitt and is the second annual Mayor’s Hike that invites the community to join our Mayor on wonderful trails to promote trail awareness and fitness. Horse Lane Trail connects the Gould Canyon Trail to Foothill Blvd. This trail is a beautiful, 25-foot wide trail, lined by eucalyptus, oaks and backyard vegetation. The planting at the Foothill Boulevard entrance was a joint project between La Cañada Valley Beautiful, the La Cañada Flintridge Trails Council, and St. Bede’s. It is maintained by La Cañada Valley Beautiful;
This is a perfect hike on a sunny day.
Accessible from:
Park on street near at St. Bede’s Church on the corner of Foothill and Crown or go down to Hahamunga Park which is located where Foothill crosses over Oak Grove Drive. On Weekends there is a teacher’s parking lot by LCHS open on the south side of Foothill and just west of Oak Grove Drive. I might suggest starting down there because it is easier to do the uphill first. 🙂
